I recently began making a website for my professional work (www.emilybarney.com) and decided to see if it would show up on google. I typed in Emily Barney, and no, my site did not show up (which I'm not too upset about because I'm not happy with it in its current state). However, what *did* show up was a lot of pages that mention another girl whose name is Emily Barney, also 27 years old, and who also lives in the Chicago area.
Creepy.

By the way i have been "following" you for quite some time now and while digging through the older posts found out you've been to vienna, thats where i live.

ReplyDeleteYes, I did go to Vienna, for only a few days, though. I wish it had been longer. In the nearly two years since I went, I've learned here and there very interesting things about the city that I wish I'd known about at the time. Though I did get to see quite a few things that I doubt the average American tourist does.
It's too bad that I have yet to learn German...I can't read your page! I suppose I could use one of those mediocre translator programs. It's something I'd love to learn, both as someone interested in languages and an art historian, but I'd rather do it once I'm done with my graduate program. I could take beginning classes now, but I'm writing my thesis on French artists so it would probably be too distracting.
Anyway...thanks for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteWell there's nothing much to read on my page at the moment, just a "mail" link in the middle of the text so I can be contacted and at the bottom are links for two other pages i have created that are also hosted on my own server.
As for the contents of the text it's just about my page needing an overhaul, but i am too lazy to do it.
